Dead nose reindeer.. TELL - FORTNUM and MASON - to stop selling this pate!

Dead nose reindeer.. this comes from the recent THE SUN news story dated Dec 25th 2012. TELL - FORTNUM AND MASON - to stop selling this pate! Links: http://www.fortnumandmason.com/ http://www.fortnumandmason.com/t-contact.aspx Fortnum & Mason plc 181 Piccadilly London United Kingdom W1A 1ER Phone: 0845 300 1707 FAX: 0207 437 3278 Wild wolves and brown bears killed over £20 Rudolph pâté. DISGUSTING!!!! WILD wolves and bears are being slaughtered just to protect herds of reindeer destined for posh Brits’ dinner tables, The Sun can reveal. Upmarket London store Fortnum & Mason is flogging tins of reindeer pâté for £20 as an “indulgent winter treat”. The cans, emblazoned with “relative of Rudolf”, on the labels, use meat from animals bred on the icy plains of mid and north Sweden by indigenous Sami herders. But outraged conservationists say scores of wolves, lynx and brown bears are being butchered in legalised hunts to protect the herds — and the £15million a year reindeer industry. Last winter, a pregnant wolf was killed with her partner four weeks before she was due to give birth to five pups. She was gunned down by marksmen in a helicopter after straying into reindeer areas during the calving season. Wildlife groups fear the creatures could soon be endangered.

  8. I say that all the time! I read so much stories every day how humans are cruel to other living beings and the environment. It's a shame. If being intelligent means that we get to harm other beings, then I'd rather have no brains at all...

  9. As usual the animals suffer to protect what producers believe rich people want. Those that produce it, stock it or eat it are all wrong.
